DISCOVER SAGADA

Sagada is a town-resort in Mountain Province covering almost 84 square kilometers of the Cordillera Mountain Ranges in north  Philippines. It is populated with more than 10,000 Applai tribesmen who speak Kankanaey, with a mix of English. Sagada is known worldwide for Sumaguing Cave that features limestone rock formations.

Sagada temperature can drop as low as four degrees Celsius especially during rainy seasons. This invites more tourists to explore Sagada to enjoy cool climate there. It grows subtropical climate crops like cabbage, chayote, tomatoes, carrots, legumes and Chinese pechay. Benguet pine trees grow in Sagada thick woodlands.

American missionaries introduced Anglicanism to Sagada natives. Sagada natives believed in living spirits and buried their dead in caves that are now among the most visited spots in the country.

In the 1970’s, tourists start mobbing to Sagada. It has become an alternative to Baguio City, which tourists are claiming to be getting more polluted due to urbanization. No multinational companies are found in Sagada, leaving Sagada as a 100%-locally managed town.

Sagada is one of the favorites of backpackers and international travelers. Thank you for choosing Sagada!
